How long is the residential warranty?

Qualifying residential coating installations are covered by Precision Concrete Coating's 15-Year Limited Residential Workmanship Warranty.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers verified installation-related workmanship defects such as covered delamination, adhesion failure, peeling, bubbling, flaking, or premature coating failure caused directly by defective workmanship.

Does the warranty cover concrete cracking?

No. Cracking, movement, settlement, or failure of the concrete substrate is not covered because the coating cannot prevent structural movement in the slab.

Does the warranty cover moisture problems?

Moisture vapor transmission, hydrostatic pressure, and moisture conditions outside the installed system's limits are not covered unless a separate written moisture-mitigation warranty applies.

Does the warranty cover scratches or impact damage?

Normal cosmetic scratches, scuffs, gouges, impact damage, abrasion, and damage from dragging heavy or sharp objects are not covered.

Is the warranty transferable?

Yes. The remaining warranty term may be transferred one time to a subsequent homeowner at the original installation address if written notice is provided within 30 days of the property transfer.

How do I file a warranty claim?

Contact Precision Concrete Coating, provide the installation address and approximate installation date, submit photographs or video when requested, and allow access for inspection.

What can void or limit warranty coverage?

Improper maintenance, abuse, misuse, unapproved chemicals, abrasive cleaning, third-party damage, owner-applied coatings or sealers, structural movement, and failure to provide inspection access may prevent coverage.

Will a repaired area match perfectly?

Precision will use comparable materials, but slight differences in color, sheen, texture, or flake blend may occur because of aging, lighting, batch variation, or product availability.

Does the warranty cover commercial projects?

Commercial and industrial warranty terms are project-specific and apply only when included in the written proposal, contract, or warranty document.

How does Precision prepare concrete before coating?

Precision mechanically prepares qualifying concrete using professional equipment and methods selected for the slab condition and coating system. The goal is to remove weak surface material, open the concrete, and create a clean, sound surface suitable for adhesion.

Does Precision acid wash concrete instead of grinding it?

Precision’s standard preparation approach is professional mechanical preparation. Any project-specific preparation method must be appropriate for the slab and approved coating system.

Does Precision remove old paint or coatings?

Failed, loose, incompatible, or poorly bonded coatings are removed before the new system is installed. The amount and method of removal depend on the existing material and concrete condition.

Does Precision repair cracks?

Qualifying cracks and surface defects may be prepared and repaired before coating. Repairs do not prevent future slab movement, foundation movement, or structural cracking.

Does Precision test for moisture?

Moisture conditions are evaluated when required by the slab, project, selected coating system, or manufacturer requirements.

How does Precision control dust?

Precision uses professional dust-control and HEPA-filtered collection equipment when appropriate during mechanical preparation.

How does Precision determine cure time?

Cure and return-to-service instructions are based on the actual products, site conditions, and current manufacturer documentation. Precision does not use one universal cure time for every project.

How are coating materials selected?

Materials are selected based on the concrete condition, intended use, environment, project scope, and compatibility within the approved coating system.

How does Precision inspect completed work?

The final inspection reviews coverage, edges, details, decorative consistency, topcoat completion, visible defects, and overall project scope before customer handoff.

Will every decorative epoxy floor look identical?

No. Metallic and decorative epoxy systems are hand-applied and naturally contain variation in movement, pattern, visual depth, and color distribution.

Why do we moisture test?

Concrete moves moisture from the ground up through the slab. If that moisture is trapped under a coating, it can push the coating off the concrete. Testing before installation tells us whether the slab can be coated as planned, or whether mitigation is needed first.

Why is grinding required?

The top layer of a concrete slab is usually the weakest and is often sealed or contaminated. Mechanical grinding removes that weak layer, removes coatings and contamination, and opens the surface so the coating can bond to sound concrete instead of sitting on top of it.

CSP stands for Concrete Surface Profile — an industry way of describing how rough or open a prepared concrete surface is. Different coating systems require different profiles, and the requirement for each system comes from the manufacturer's documentation.

Can coatings be installed over paint?

No. Paint is a separate film that is usually poorly bonded to the concrete. A coating installed over paint is only as strong as the paint underneath it, so paint is removed by mechanical preparation before coating.

What if moisture is too high?

If the recorded moisture exceeds the limits published for the products being installed, we do not proceed as originally scoped. Depending on the reading, the options are moisture mitigation, a different system, or holding the project. That decision is documented and discussed with the customer.

Why inspect temperature?

Coating materials cure chemically, and both slab and air temperature affect how they flow, bond, and cure. Installing outside the manufacturer's approved temperature range can change the finish, the cure, and the long-term performance of the floor.

Who performs the inspection?

Inspections are performed by trained Precision personnel and recorded in Precision OS, with the inspector identified on each entry.

Is the inspection record shared with the customer?

The findings that affect the customer's floor — conditions found, repairs made, and final inspection results — are discussed at walkthrough, and the record is retained with the project.
