Why choose Precision Concrete Coating

Prep first. Owner-led. Built for Conroe homeowners.

Precision is an owner-operated Conroe company. Homeowners across The Woodlands, Montgomery, Willis, Spring, Magnolia, and North Houston hire us for diamond-ground prep, honest system recommendations, and documented workmanship — not a franchise handoff.

The decision

A coating is only as good as the work under it.

Most homeowners are not choosing between two identical floors. They are choosing between a professional system and something that only looks like one: a DIY kit, a cheap roll-on epoxy, a crew that skips grinding, or a franchise that sells the brand harder than the slab.

Precision’s job is narrower. Inspect the concrete. Prepare it mechanically. Repair what will affect the bond. Choose the system for Texas heat and how you actually use the garage. Document the work. Stand behind qualifying residential systems in writing.

That is not a claim that every other contractor fails. It is the standard we will be measured against on your floor.

Compared honestly

What you are actually choosing between.

DIY coating kits

Store kits fail most often because the concrete was never opened to a real profile, moisture was never checked, and the film is too thin for hot tires. They can look acceptable for a while. They are not the same as a ground-and-built system.

Cheap epoxy installers

Low bids usually hide skipped grinding, thin broadcast, or a topcoat that cannot take Texas UV. Ask what happens at the slab — not just the color chart. A cheap floor that peels is the expensive one.

Low-prep contractors

If the pitch is “we can coat it tomorrow” with no inspection language, the risk is adhesion. Precision starts with diamond grinding and evaluates moisture before coating. That is slower to sell and more honest to install.

Franchise coating companies

A national name can still send a local crew you never meet again. Precision is owner-operated from Conroe. William Melton trains crew leaders and inspects finished floors before customers walk on them.

Skipped moisture testing

Texas slabs hold moisture. Coating over it is a common path to blistering and delamination. We evaluate moisture before the system goes down. If readings require mitigation, that is part of the recommendation — not a surprise after failure.

Skipped grinding

Acid wash or a light scuff is not the same as mechanical diamond grinding. We grind to open a bond profile. That is the unglamorous step that decides whether the coating stays attached.

What we actually do

Differentiators you can ask us to prove.

Preparation

Diamond grinding

Mechanical surface preparation to create a bond profile. This is the core of the install standard — not an upsell.

Slab

Moisture evaluation

Readings before coating. Mitigation is recommended when the slab requires it, instead of hoping the film will hide the problem.

Repairs

Crack and joint work

Cracks, chips, and joints are addressed when they will affect the finished system. We do not pretend every slab is perfect.

Specification

System selection

Epoxy, flake, hybrid, and polyaspartic are chosen for the slab and the use — not a single product pushed on every garage.

Finish

Full-broadcast flake

Where a flake system is specified, coverage is built as a complete broadcast — not a light sprinkle over thin epoxy.

Climate

Texas heat and UV

UV-stable polyaspartic protection is used as the wear layer so the system is built for sun, heat, and hot tires — not a brochure climate.

The Precision system

Documented process. Local ownership.

A homeowner should be able to ask what happens on install day and get a straight sequence: inspect, grind, repair, coat, broadcast, topcoat, handoff. We publish that process because it is how the floor is built.

Communication matters as much as chemistry. You should know what we found on the slab, why a system was recommended, and who is responsible if a workmanship issue appears. Qualifying residential systems include a written 15-year residential limited warranty. Details, exclusions, and claims live on the warranty page — not in a verbal promise.

Why choose us FAQ

Are you cheaper than a DIY kit?
No. A kit is cheaper on day one. A professionally prepared system costs more because grinding, repairs, materials, and labor are real. Compare that to recoating a peeled DIY floor — not to the price on the box.
Do you always recommend flake and polyaspartic?
No. Those are common on residential garages we install, because they fit Texas heat and the way most homeowners use the space. The system still has to match the slab. If the concrete or the use calls for a different build, we say so.
What warranty do you offer?
Qualifying residential garage floor coating systems are backed by a written 15-year residential limited warranty. Coverage, exclusions, and claims are defined by the written warranty provided with the project.
Do you serve areas outside Conroe?
Yes. Precision works throughout Montgomery County and nearby North Houston, including The Woodlands, Montgomery, Magnolia, Willis, Spring, Lake Conroe, New Caney, Porter, Kingwood, and Humble. Availability is confirmed during the estimate.
Where can I see the process in more detail?
The installation page walks the sequence. The Conroe garage floor hub covers systems and local conditions. The warranty page explains what written coverage actually means.
